She has held many student retreats, organized lectures, guest speakers and thematic events. Lynn is known for her poetry readings and creative writing workshops. She received recognition for teaching and lecturing and built strong relationships with her colleagues, students and mentees.

Lynn has always taken an active interest in the academic lives of her students and has a long history of encouraging students to apply to graduate school and for grants and scholarships (in particular, Ph.D. programs, SSHRC and Canada Council Grants). She also assists students with editing, publishing, and submitting scholarly articles to academic journals.
